Challenge

1. Strategic Objective
This program is designed to shape the next phase of our Digital Technology roadmap by bringing together Cloud, Data and AI engineering coupled with Secure Development, cloud-native data platforms, and intelligent automation. As enterprises move rapidly toward cloud-first, AI-driven, and highly connected systems, the ability to build secure-by-design, data-driven, and future-ready solutions has become a business-critical differentiator.

Participants will work on real-world problem statements that mirror upcoming programs across cloud, embedded, web, and data-intensive platforms. The challenge will span vulnerability discovery and penetration testing, secure software development across the SDLC, and the design of scalable data and AI architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Teams will be expected to think like hackers, engineers, architects, and quality champions—balancing innovation, performance, security, and compliance.

2. Technology Focus Areas

a. Data, Cloud & AI Engineering

  • Design of modern data architectures including lakehouse, data mesh, and fabric
  • Scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming platforms, and cloud-native data services
  • AI/ML model development, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps practices
  • Gen AI LLMs, RAG, Finetuning, Agentic Orchestration using LangChain, LlamaIndex, Microsoft Agent Framework.
  • AI based data extraction from 2D, 3D engineering diagrams, image files, Scanned PDFs, .DWG files.
  • Governance, compliance, and responsible handling of sensitive and regulated data

b. Secure Software & DevSecOps Engineering

  • Secure coding practices embedded across the SDLC
  • Vulnerability remediation, patch management, and security automation
  • Integration of SAST, DAST, and SCA tools into CI/CD pipelines
  • Secure development for cloud, web, and embedded platforms
  • Implementation of secure-by-default coding libraries, reusable security components, and policy-driven code templates
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) hardening and automated drift detection for Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation
  • Developing self-defending applications using runtime security controls such as RASP and in-app telemetry
  • Secure API schema validation, input sanitization, and data-protection enforcement across microservices
  • Building automated pipelines that block insecure dependencies, enforce code-signing, and run continuous secrets scanning
  • Hardened firmware development practices, including secure boot, memory-safe coding patterns, and OTA security

c. Cyber Security & Offensive Security

  • Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing across cloud, web, network, and embedded environments
  • Application of global security frameworks and standards such as OWASP, NIST, ISO, and PTES
  • Cloud security practices for AWS, Azure, and containerized environments
  • Secure microservices, API hardening, and exploit mitigation
  • Red-teaming scenarios simulating privilege escalation, lateral movement, and cloud misconfiguration exploitation
  • Fuzz testing for embedded systems and API endpoints to uncover memory-safety issues and logic flaws
  • Secure container builds, container runtime hardening, and Kubernetes RBAC & network policy validation-policy validation
  • Use of SAST/DAST tools to generate exploit-ready test cases and confirm remediation effectiveness

d. Quality Engineering & Automation

  • Understanding of SDLC and STLC processes
  • Automation using scripting, test frameworks, and version control
  • Any scripting language (Java / Python / JavaScript)
  • Focus on analytical thinking, defect prevention, and continuous quality improvement
  • ISTQB (Foundation Level) or equivalent certification
  • Foundational knowledge of AI/ML
